Out with the family

Family. It’s usually thought that parents teach children, but almost 23 years into the game I can say that my kids have often taught me deeply about being a good person—sometimes by having brought me face to face with my own greed, selfishness, and immaturity.

“The ancients…wishing to order well their states, they first harmonized their families. Wishing to harmonize their families, they first cultivated their persons. Wishing to cultivate their persons, they first rectified their hearts.” -Kongzi, Great Learning

How can society level up if family ain’t right? Why should I point a critical finger out there if business under my own roof ain’t straight?
