1) From starting position, ascend the hands with palms facing upward. At the level of the neck forearms rotate so that the palms remain face-up as the hands continue to ascend. At the end of the movement, the hands are above the ears with a gentle curve to the arms. Inhale evenly throughout.
2) Descend the hands with palms facing down and the energy of reaching for the upper trapezius muscles. At about the level of the ears the hands make their way to the front of the body, continuing their descent along the outside of the trunk. Distribute your exhalation evenly.
Steps 1 and 2 constitute one repetition. Perform 3-5 repetitions and flow to the next exercise, or perform a harmonizing breath if the last exercise in the set.
